Objective

Micro finance institutions (MFIs) have been vital enablers in bringing financial and banking services to the poor and vulnerable in India. CRISIL, one of the early believers in the potential of MFIs, assigned its first MFI grading in 2002, and has since graded more than 200 MFIs. These gradings have helped MFIs access funding from donor, lending, and private equity agencies. CRISIL recently rated India's first MFI loan securitisation programme; loan securitisation has opened a new source of financing for MFIs.

CRISIL is pleased to invite you to a seminar on Micro Finance Lending: Growth Engine for the Indian Economy. This seminar is another of CRISIL's initiatives to help strengthen the micro-finance sector.

On this occasion, CRISIL plans to unveil its latest publication, India Top 50 Microfinance Institutions. This unique publication presents an overview of leading players in India's MFI space.
